Day 02:

Phuentsholing – Thimphu Post breakfast drive to Thimphu (175kms. / 5 hrs, altitude of Thimpu 2330mts), the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival transfer to hotel. Late afternoon visit Tashichhoe Dzong (Fortresss of Glorious Religion), explore the Thimpu town by walk.Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 03:

Prepare for lot of visits today in your Bhutan trip with family. Thimphu Post breakfast proceed to visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue), National Memorial Chorten (Monument) and Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon visit Changangkha Lhakhang, Takin Preserve Centre, the national animal of Bhutan can be seen here. Return back to hotel, rest of the day is free for leisure or explore local market by walk. Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 04:

Thimphu – Punakha / Wangdue Post breakfast drive to Punakha / Wangdue (80 kms. / 3 hrs, altitude of Punakha 1200mts), en-route stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3050mts).During clear days you will get a chance to see Himalayan ranges of Bhutan. On arrival transfer to hotel. After noon visit Punakha Dzong – built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Monastic body. Later enjoy short hike to Chhimi Lhakhang – the temple also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Ngawang Chogyal cousin brother of, “The Devine Mad Man”. After that we will visit Khamsum Yulley Namgyal and Nunnery. Return back to hotel, rest of the day is free for leisure or explore beautiful Punakha by walk. Overnight at Punakha.

Day 05:

Bhutan trip with family continues to surprise you. Punakha – Gangtey – Punakha Post breakfast proceed for full day excursion trip to Gangtey (75kms / 3hrs – one way, altitude of Gangtey 3350mts). Gangtey is the home of Black Necked Crane which migrates from the arid plains of Tibet in the north, it’s considered as one of the most beautiful valley of Bhutan, one can also visit Gangtey Goempa. Return back to hotel, evening is free for leisure or walk Overnight stay at Punakha.

Day 06:

Punakha – Paro Post breakfast drive to Paro (125 kms. / 3.5hrs, altitude of Paro 2200mts), on arrival at Paro proceed to visit Ta Dzong, Ringpung Dzong, kyichu Lhakhang later if time permits visit Drukgyel Dzong. Late afternoon transfer to the hotel, rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at Paro.

Day 07:

Paro – Taktsang Monastery – Paro Post breakfast proceed to visit Taktsang Monastery (also known as ‘Tigers Nest Monastery’), here one can enjoy trekking to go on top. This monastery is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple complex is located in the cliff-side of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan, altitude 3120mts (10300ft). A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for Four Months in the 8th century. The monastery is located 10 kms to the north of Paro, on the right side of the Paro Chu ('chu' Bhutanese means ”river or water”). Return back to hotel. Overnight at Paro.

Day 08:

Paro – Phuentsholing Post breakfast drive to Phuentsholing (145kms / 5hrs). On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at Phuentsholing. 

Day 09:

Depart Phuentsholing – NJP station or Bagdogra Post breakfast drive to NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport for departure (170 kms / 5 hrs). With that the interesting Bhutan trip with family comes to a conclusion.
