Indian Air Traffic Booms: 2023 Report

The Indian Airline industry is set for stellar growth as all the segments are soaring high, some of which have surpassed the glory of pre-pandemic levels as reported by VIDEC's India Air Travel Market Sizing & OTA Benchmarking Study, FY20-26. The key findings are overwhelming and listed below.

The domestic air gross booking value stood at ₹781Bn in FY23 from ₹601Bn in FY20.
The international air gross booking value estimated at ₹963Bn in FY23 from ₹901Bn in FY20.
Indian airlines booked order of 1500 aircrafts approx. expected to be delivered over next 10 years.
Domestic passenger traffic stood at 137Mn in FY23 almost recovered from FY20.
International passenger traffic stood at 54Mn recording 90% recovery.
Indian OTA Air Market stood at ₹583Bn in FY23 up by 30%.

Equipped with latest technologies, interconnected biometric systems, luxurious lounges and a built-up area of 7,42,000 sqm, Abu Dhabi announces the opening of Terminal A, one of the largest airport terminals in the world. And guess what! The new terminal will be able to accommodate 45 million passengers every year, 11000 travellers per hour and operate 79 aircrafts at any given time.
